5 Palo Santo Sticks

The burning of Palo Santo is a ritualistic act of clearing.

Sustainably harvested from the Peruvian jungle, Palo Santo is well-known as a compound that removes stagnant energies.

Belonging to the same plant family as copal, frankincense and myrrh, “the nose” on it will open up to the scents of lemon, pine and mint.

Beyond the spiritual realm, these plants are used regularly to freshen spaces, and allowed to smolder as effective bug and mosquito repellant.

Your set of 5 Palo Santo sticks have been collected by native people of Peru, and cut-by-hand with an ax to the size and shape you will receive it in.

Proper sourcing etiquette for this plant is observed strictly.

Only native Peruvians have the government certification to source, and export to the United States. We adhere to the strictest codes of conduct when sourcing, and this Palo Santo is certified byby the National Forest Service and Wildlife of Peru (SERFOR)
Is this harvested sustainably?

Yes! Our Palo Santo is ethically and sustainably harvested. Each stick is cut by axe, at the hands of native indigenous people from Peru. These people are the only ones with the necessary official government certificates to make our Palo Santo importations to the US possible. (SERFOR, PHYTOSANITARY, CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN, USDA).

Is this Palo Santo an endangered plant?

No! There are actually 2 different species, both known by the name Palo Santo, Bulnesia sarmientoi and Bursera graveolens.

Bulnesia sarmientoi is a slow growing tree that is indigineous to Paraguary, Argentina and Bolivia. This type has held endangered status since 2018, and is NEVER sourced or sold by The Ohm Store.

Bursera graveolens, the Palo Santo you are buying today, is NOT endangered and is the only kind sold by The Ohm Store.

What are the aromatic properties of Palo Santo?

Used heavily as aromatherapy, Palo Santo contains a substance called limonene. Limonene is a well-known terpene found in many medicinal plants.
