This is a 20-inch handmade bronze singing bowl; at these frequencies and size the waveforms became larger than a human body. And below 80hz, the perception with which we receive the sound transforms. 

Rather than just "hearing" a bowl at this size and range, we feel it. 

The waveform of a large bowl like this, envelopes us. 

What Makes This Different

The sound wave is larger than you are. At 60 Hz, the wavelength is 5.7 meters. Your entire body fits inside a single compression cycle. Instead of hearing a tone localized in space, you're immersed in a sound wave. In short, you feel it. 

Below 80 Hz, the ear's ability to isolate pitch drops off sharply. Your body receives this frequency primarily through bone conduction and skin. It registers in your chest, your legs, your diaphragm. 

The effect is grounding in the most literal sense.

The sustain is frankly, absurd. Bronze's damping factor is near zero. Strike this bowl once on it's side and it will sing audibly for minutes (we cut the recording off well before this because my hand was so tired)

Why Size Matters Here

Small bowls produce notes, rich with overtones. Large bowls produce fields. This one operates at a scale where acoustics become tactile. Feel the vibrations, as they say!

Each bowl is forged from bell bronze, which is the the same alloy used in temple bells for centuries. This metal barely wastes any energy when it vibrates, which is why one strike produces minutes of sustained tone.

Shipping

Most of these second song bowls have already made their journey from Nepal to the States. However, a couple are coming straight from our makers in Nepal. Kindly allow up to 2 weeks for the delivery of your foot bowl.

These bowls have been part of our journey — used in studio sessions, Sound School, photoshoots, or returned after purchase. Some may have light cosmetic imperfections.

Each bowl has been carefully inspected to ensure it still meets our sound standards.

If you’re less concerned with a perfectly pristine finish and more focused on tone, feel, and function, this is a beautiful way to find a bowl at a reduced price.
