Meet, The traditional Nepali hand drum. 

You're seeing a doubled-headed, barrel-shaped hand drum from Nepal, crafted in the classic Himalayan village tradition. These drums are composed entirely by hand from natural materials -- made simply, and sturdily. 

The craftsmen-partners of The Ohm store encouraged that we offer these this Holiday Season -- the "workhorse" drum made to be 18 inches in diameter. Each side's diameter is different (one is 6.7 inches the other 4) allowing for separate pitches. 

The top and bottom head are made from goat skin and the body from amber wood.

The vertical laces are long strips, traditional to Himalayan drum-making.

This type of Nepali drum will showcase warm, midrange punch. Easy to play.

Made simply, by hand and provided to you now. They are in the United States now, and ready to be sent to you.  

Note on this Second Song Collection Drum:  

Tape was used to help keep from puncturing and left some sticky residue. 
This residue can be removed with a gentle oil such as coconut.  

These instruments have been part of our journey — used in studio sessions, Sound School, photoshoots, or returned after purchase. Some may have light cosmetic imperfections.

Each bowl has been carefully inspected to ensure it still meets our sound standards.

If you’re less concerned with a perfectly pristine finish and more focused on tone, feel, and function, this is a beautiful way to find a bowl at a reduced price.
