Introducing, a 10" Crystal Star that sings.

The form is the merkaba, or "star tetrahedron," built from two interlocking ten-inch pyramids with beams of equal ten-inch length, a piece of sacred geometry that has carried meaning across many traditions as a symbol of the union of opposites, spirit and matter, ascending and descending energy.

When played it releasing a high, shimmering tone that swirls.

The Sound

The merkaba rings a small living chord.

Its many glass arms meet at points and vibrate together, producing a bright dominant tone in the high register layered with closely related partials that beat gently against one another.

The result is almost a vocal wash of sound that feels three-dimensional. A surround sound effect.

The Instrument Itself

Each merkaba is formed from clear quartz glass tubing, with every arm shaped and fused by hand so the eight points of the star meet cleanly. 

Held up in brightness, it refracts light.  

The star is played with the included frosted quartz striker, run around the arms or struck to set it ringing.

How You Might Use It 

Its high, swirling register will float above the sounds of your 2nd, 3rd and 4th octave crystal and bronze singing bowls.

Create a sense of spaciousness and ascension at the peak of a journey.

It's texture is three-dimensional rather than a single clean pitch. 

I'd play it over a sustained bowl drone, or at clear transition points. I'd use it while walking around during the session. 

There's aesthetic value in it sitting alone, it shines as a spectacular piece of art.
