Gong 9 — 27 Inch Hand-Hammered Nepali Temple Gong One of a Kind

This is a 27 Inch Hand-Hammered Nepali Temple Gong One of a Kind

Nepali temple gongs are hand-hammered in the Kathmandu Valley by bronze craftsmen specialists.

This one is 27 inches across, hammered from a bronze in the bell-metal family, patinated dark, and finished with a full iconography that is unique to this one gong.

The central feature of this gong is a tree of life set inside a geometric field.

A broad branching tree fills the center of the gong, with exposed roots reaching down into a flower or rosette at the base. Behind the tree is an interlocking geometric line form, giving the image a temple-diagram feeling. The surrounding border is filled with lotus medallions, dotted rings, and floral vine ornament.

The tone here is centered around a deep A#2, with B3 and C4 partials above it that add a clear, bright upper edge.

Played with a soft mallet it opens with a defined low body and a noticeable shimmer in the middle of the sustain, where the upper partials briefly become more active before fading back into the bass.

The character is bass-led but not plain, with the A#2 holding the ground while the higher B3 and C4 color give the sound lift and motion through the early decay.

Playing will favor a single clean strike and a slow roll that lets the tree-like spread of partials open without crowding the tone. It sounds like a different instrument depending on how you choose to play it.

At The Ohm Store every instrument is selected as a resonator first and a visual object second.

There is only one gong available like this, and you're receiving the exact gong that's pictured and recorded here.

This gong does not include a gong stand.
