Is Sound School the right training for you?
Learn to create transformational experiences for people using singing bowls and sound.
Sound School exists to educate the next generation of impact-driven facilitators in therapeutic and relaxational sound. Our building principle is good explanations. A method worth teaching has to rest on rigorous study of the systems actually in play: the instruments and how they behave, the brain and body of both the practitioner and the person on the floor, and the craft of architecting a session out of musicality, intention, and a clear plan.
On Wednesday morning I’m going live to share the full details: who this sort of training is right for, what the curriculum looks like, who the teachers are, and much more. Our training is built for the person who’d like to make an investment of time and money into their development as a true facilitator.
Register for the next session
Wednesday mornings, 9:30 Central. Seventy-five minutes with me, kept small enough that you can ask a real question and get a real answer.
Can’t attend live? Register anyway and I’ll send you the recording.
Good explanations, applied to three systems.
Sound healing has never held itself to the ordinary standard of an explanation, which is that a claim should name a mechanism and the mechanism should be hard to alter without the whole account falling apart. Nine weeks studying the three systems that are actually in play.
The instruments
What the alloy is and isn’t. Why one bowl beats and the one beside it doesn’t. What a few thousand hammer strikes do to the wall of a vessel and therefore to the sound coming off it. Taught from the foundry, not from metaphor.
The brain and body
What happens in the practitioner and in the person on the floor. Entrainment, attention, the physiology of a nervous system settling. Enough to know what you’re doing to someone, and enough to say it out loud to a skeptic.
The architecture of a session
Musicality, intention, and a clear plan. How an hour is built so that it goes somewhere. This is the part almost nobody teaches, and it’s the difference between playing beautifully and facilitating.
Eight teachers, and fifteen people who know your name.
Not one voice at the center of everything. Eight, for the reason universities keep faculties rather than sages: where independent experts agree you can lean on it, and where they diverge you get to see the seam.
You’re placed in a small group and you move through the nine weeks together, live, every week. You play, someone hears it, and you’re told something true about what you just did.
That group is the reason people finish. Most graduates are still playing with theirs a year later, which is the part I’m quietly proudest of.
What I’ll cover.
The Method, in full
The curriculum week by week. Live sessions, small groups, practice requirements, hours per week. Nothing vague.
The instruments, properly
A working demonstration of what I mean by understanding these at the level of the material, including a few things you’ve likely been taught that aren’t so.
What it costs, and the guarantee
The figure goes on screen. Nobody licenses this work and you don’t need a credential from me. What you’d be buying is compressed time, and it’s worth real money or it’s worth nothing.
Your questions, live
Including the uncomfortable ones. Those especially.
Two hundred and fifty people have finished this.
“My biggest a-ha moment? That I can take someone from fight-or-flight into a Theta or Delta brainwave state with a single bowl.”
“I’m a nurse. I knew noise could harm. I had no idea sound could heal.”
“I found my voice, my uniqueness, my style.”
“After submitting my 15-minute video, I realized I can actually offer something of service. I’ve always believed in the healing power of sound. This gave me the courage to share it.”
“It was wonderful. I felt a personal touch despite such a large group. Material was informative and on point.”
“This course has been transformative. I now trust my ability as a healer.”
“Becoming a healer can be lonely. We’re moving past being alone in your special skill.”
“I appreciated that it wasn’t just ‘at your own pace.’ The scheduled meetings kept me on track and engaged, so I actually finished.”
“By far the best sound healing training I’ve taken, personally and professionally.”
Come and find out whether this one is yours.
Seventy-five minutes with me will tell you, one way or the other.
