The Spirit Gong is the result of an exclusive partnership between The Ohm Store and renowned artisan José Antonio Álvarez — a master craftsman whose gongs are sought by spiritual teachers, sound therapists, and professional musicians across three continents.

The Sound of the Spirit Gong
The Spirit Gong is not tuned by machines — it is tuned by hand, by ear, by feel.
Crafted from silver-nickel alloy, a rare material chosen for its sonic clarity and exceptional sustain, the Spirit Gong sounds unlike any bronze gong. It is not warm — it is clear. It is not muddy — it is precise. Its tone is brighter, longer-lasting, and more harmonically complex.
When struck, the Spirit Gong unfolds in four phases: (the 32 inch version broken down here)
0–1 seconds — Initiation:
A brilliant, full-spectrum burst explodes into the room. The sound is immediate, clean, and powerful — spanning from ~30 Hz to over 12,000 Hz. No distortion. No imbalance. Just pure release.
1–10 seconds — Harmonic Formation:
A deep fundamental tone (60–70 Hz) anchors the sound. Harmonics emerge in perfect structure: 120, 180, 240 Hz.
A shimmering overtone band forms between 500 Hz and 3 kHz. Subtle beating patterns at 1–2 Hz pulse like a living organism.
10–60 seconds — Sustain and Immersion:
The gong holds. No collapse, no fade-out.
The vibration radiates outward — forming a stable, hypnotic field of sound that supports meditation, nervous system regulation, and space clearing.
60–90 seconds — Fading Into Stillness:
Even after the sound seems to disappear from the ears, its low frequencies linger in the chest.

The Sacred Manufacturing Process
The process begins with a flat sheet of silver-nickel. From the first moment, nothing is rushed.
Meditation is held before any work begins — to ask permission from the masters and offer gratitude. Jose is a master deeply connected to his work in a spiritual way.
The edge is burned, in a numerologically aligned ring, then cooled for days
The sound body is hammered, front and back, by hand — shaping both vibration and visual symmetry
Rest phases are built into the creation cycle — allowing the metal to “learn” its shape and settle
Every bump is measured, placed, and struck in harmony with sacred geometry
No machine tuning. Final sound shaping is done entirely by José’s trained hand and ear

Who Is José Antonio Álvarez?
Before building gongs, José was a teacher — of yoga and breath.
He encountered the gong in a sound journey, and it changed everything for him.
He traveled across Europe and the U.S. studying under the great gongmasters, collecting the finest instruments, and leading sound journeys across Spain.
Eventually, he began building — not to create products, but to transmit frequency and intention through form.
Today, José’s gongs are used by musicians, therapists, and spiritual leaders.
But this design — The Spirit Gong — he made only for The Ohm Store.
