The Krishna Gong is the result of a second collaboration between The Ohm Store and master gongsmith José Antonio Álvarez — whose handcrafted instruments are prized by sound therapists, musicians, and ceremonialists across the world.

The Sound of the Krishna Gong
Each gong is tuned by hand, by strike, by ear — until it feels complete. A drawn out process of hammered, allowing tension to dissipate over days, returning to the shaping. The process is the antidote to much of modernity’s hurry.
The material chosen is silver-nickel alloy; the Krishna Gong offers a tonal signature distinct from ceremonial bronze gongs.
Its sound is alive, evolving, and architected in waves of resonance.
When struck, the Krishna Gong unfolds in four phases (analysis below reflects the 32-inch version):
0–1 seconds — Emergence
A clear, full-bodied sound radiates outward. The initial attack unfolds.
The spectrum opens from ~42 Hz upward through 4,000 Hz, with no metallic harshness.
The attack is smooth — a low A1 fundamental with an immediate overtone shimmer.
1–10 seconds — Harmonic Bloom
As the fundamental settles, overtone structure rises:
~120, 240, 360 Hz — first partials appear with clarity
A prominent harmonic field forms between 400 Hz and 1.8 kHz, shimmering and warm
Modulating textures pulse at ~1 Hz a slow, organic “flanging motion”
10–60 seconds — Sustained Resonance
The sound stabilizes into a radiant “surround sound like” tone field.
The low frequencies support the body.
Krishna holds a continuous presence, ideal for expansive states.
There is no single tone, contains multitudes.
60–90 seconds — Echo and Return
Upper harmonics dissolve, a subtle hum remains in the room.
The low end “waits” and you can still feel it in the chest after the ear stops hearing.

The Sacred Manufacturing Process
The process begins with a flat sheet of silver-nickel. From the first moment, nothing is rushed.
Meditation is held before any work begins — to ask permission from the masters and offer gratitude. Jose is a master deeply connected to his work in a spiritual way.
The edge is burned, in a numerologically aligned ring, then cooled for days
The sound body is hammered, front and back, by hand — shaping both vibration and visual symmetry
Rest phases are built into the creation cycle — allowing the metal to “learn” its shape and settle
Every bump is measured, placed, and struck in harmony with sacred geometry
No machine tuning. Final sound shaping is done entirely by José’s trained hand and ear
Who Is José Antonio Álvarez?
Before building gongs, José was a teacher — of yoga and breath.
He encountered the gong in a sound journey, and it changed everything for him.
He traveled across Europe and the U.S. studying under the great gongmasters, collecting the finest instruments, and leading sound journeys across Spain.
Eventually, he began building — not to create products, but to transmit frequency and intention through form.
Today, José’s gongs are used by musicians, therapists, and spiritual leaders.
But this design — The Krishna Gong — he made only for The Ohm Store.
