What makes this collection different

You are not buying
a bowl like this one.

Every bowl in this collection was individually selected, photographed, and recorded by the Ohm Store team. The photograph on each product page is a portrait of a specific instrument — not a representative image of a type. The audio sample is a recording of that exact bowl. When you buy it, that bowl — the one in the photograph, the one in the recording — ships to you. It will never be sold again.

This is where you, as a sound practitioner, get to curate your collection with the intention and precision that makes your set genuinely unique and complete.

Photographed individually
Every image is of the exact bowl being sold. What you see is a portrait, not a product shot.
Recorded individually
Every audio sample was made with that specific bowl. Listen with headphones for the full experience.
One of one
Each bowl is handmade. No two are identical. The one you choose will never exist again in this exact form.
Choosing by musical note

Find the bowl
your collection is missing.

If you're building a set and you know you need a D note, or an F#, or a B — you can filter to exactly that note and browse only those bowls. Each one will have its musical note, octave, and cents measurement clearly listed.

−50¢ 0¢ +50¢ Perfect pitch ±10¢ flat sharp A4 = 440 Hz standard
What "cents" means
For each musical note there are 100 total cents — 50 below the perfect pitch and 50 above. Measuring in cents allows much greater precision than note name alone. For professionals adding to an existing set, this matters: a bowl listed as D at −3 cents will harmonise differently than one at +22 cents, even though both are technically "D."
Anything ±10 cents is considered a perfect pitch note. All tuning is based on A4 440 Hz.

Choosing by size

Size determines tonal character.
Choose with intention.

Beyond musical note, size is the most important variable in how a bowl sounds and feels. This collection spans small, medium, and large — each with a distinct tonal register, oscillation quality, and use case.

3 – 5 inches
Small
High · Bright · Portable
High register, clear tone, cuts through background noise. Ideal for focused work, travel, or layering as a high voice in a multi-bowl set.
5 – 8 inches
Medium
Vocal range · Strong oscillation
Fundamental in the human vocal range, pronounced oscillation and beating frequencies. The most versatile size — meditation, entrainment, and the most requested note range for practitioners.
8 – 14+ inches
Large
Deep · Grounding · Resonant
Deep, grounding tone with prominent overtones. Fills a room. Ideal for group settings, session openings, and practitioners who want a foundational bass voice in their collection.
The audio sample

How to listen
before you buy.

Every bowl in this collection has been individually recorded. The recording follows the same process for every bowl: struck first, then sung around the rim. Here's how to get the most from it.

First — the strike
Hear the fundamental tone
The bowl is first struck with a red felt mallet. This gives you the clearest read on the bowl's fundamental note and the initial resonance — how it opens, and how quickly it sustains.
Then — the rim
Hear the oscillation
The bowl is then sung around the rim with a suede-wrapped mallet. Listen for the oscillation — the beating, pulsing quality within the sustain. This is the therapeutic mechanism. A bowl with a rich oscillation here has strong entrainment potential.
Listen for
What resonates in you
Beyond technique — notice your own response. Does the tone settle you or activate you? Does it feel complete or like it's reaching for something? Your nervous system is a reliable instrument for this assessment.
Practical note
Use headphones
The subtle beating frequencies and spatial qualities of each bowl are most audible through headphones. The recording is made to a high standard — the listening environment should match it.
Recording format: Bowl struck with red felt mallet → bowl sung with suede-wrapped mallet · All recordings captured at standard conditions · Tuning referenced to A4 = 440 Hz
How these bowls are tuned

The note is discovered,
not assigned.

A singing bowl is not manually tuned to a specific musical note. Our craftsmen make bell-metal bronze singing bowls by hand in the ancient way — each bowl is made first, then measured.

Its note, octave, and cents value are determined by what the bowl produces — not by what was intended. This is part of what makes each one genuinely one of one. No bowl in this collection was made to hit a specific note. Every note you see listed is what that specific bowl found on its own.

"The tuning of a bowl is a process of discovery and measurement after the fact — ensuring that your singing bowl is the only one like it that will ever exist."

Material
Bell metal bronze
A specific proportion of copper to tin (77% copper / 23% tin), known for its resonant properties. The same alloy used in church bells and gongs.
Process
Hand-hammered, then measured
Made by craftsmen in the ancient tradition. The note is determined after making — not before.
Tuning standard
A4 = 440 Hz
All measurements in this collection are referenced to standard concert pitch. Cents values allow precision beyond note name.
Perfect pitch threshold
±10 cents
Anything within 10 cents of the perfect pitch is considered a true note. Many bowls in this collection fall within that range.
Our promise to you

The Love It Promise.

We don't offer a standard 30-day return policy. We offer something more direct: you'll love the instrument you receive, or we'll work with you on an exchange or return. No fine print, no time pressure — just a commitment that the bowl you end up with is the right one.
