The 20-Inch Maker's Mark Foot Bowl. Tiger Eye design. OHM maker's mark. Handmade in Nepal from bell bronze.
Most singing bowls produce a tone you hear. This one produces a tone you stand inside of. The 20-Inch Maker's Mark Foot Bowl operates at a fundamental frequency in the low first octave, where the physics of sound change in a specific and measurable way.
In the first octave, the ear's ability to isolate pitch drops off sharply. At these frequencies, your body receives sound primarily through bone conduction and skin surface vibration, not just through the auditory canal. You feel it in your chest, your diaphragm, your legs. The waveform at this size is not localized in space. It envelopes you.
This bowl is part of The Ohm Store Legacy Collection. It is forged from bell bronze, the same alloy used in temple bells for centuries, and it carries the OHM maker's mark. The six items below explain exactly what this instrument is, how it is constructed, and what it does acoustically.
Below approximately 80 Hz, the mechanism by which you perceive sound changes. The auditory system's ability to isolate pitch drops off sharply in this range. What takes over is bone conduction and somatosensory reception through the skin and underlying tissue. Pacinian corpuscles, the mechanoreceptors distributed throughout your skin and connective tissue, respond to vibrations in the low-frequency range. This bowl's fundamental sits directly in that window.
The result is that you feel this bowl as much as you hear it. The vibration registers in your chest, your sternum, your diaphragm, and your legs. Customers consistently describe this as a grounding physical experience, and the anatomy explains why. The sound wave at this frequency is not something you process cognitively. It is something your body receives directly.
In the first octave, the ear's role in sound perception is secondary. Your bones and skin take over.
In the first octave, the wavelength of sound in air spans several meters. A standing adult is roughly 1.7 meters tall. Your entire body fits inside a single compression cycle of the wave this bowl produces.
This is the physical basis for what customers describe as being "inside" the sound. When a sound wave is larger than the object receiving it, the experience is immersive rather than directional. You cannot localize where the sound is coming from, because the wave surrounds you completely. This is a function of the physics, not of the room or the acoustics of the space.
At this bowl's fundamental, the wavelength is several meters long. You are standing inside a single compression cycle.
Bell bronze, an alloy of 78% copper and 22% tin, has one of the lowest internal damping factors of any metal used in instrument making. Internal damping is the rate at which a vibrating material converts acoustic energy into heat. In bell bronze, this conversion rate is extremely low, which means the material continues to vibrate long after the initial strike.
At 20 inches of diameter and the corresponding mass, the sustain on this bowl is extraordinary. A single strike produces audible tone for several minutes. The recording below was cut short because the sustain continued well past what was practical to capture. This is a direct consequence of the alloy and the mass, and it is why bell bronze has been used in temple bells for centuries. The physics of the material are the same regardless of the form.
One strike produces minutes of audible tone. The alloy barely wastes any energy when it vibrates.
Recorded in our studio. This is a single strike followed by the natural decay. The recording was cut before the sustain ended. The physical vibration at this size and frequency is something you experience in person.
The Tiger Eye design is the pattern The Ohm Store is known for. It appears on the Jupiter Bowl, the Saturn Bowl, and the Tiger Bowl, which are among the most recognized instruments in the collection. The 20-Inch Foot Bowl carries this same design at a scale that has not been available in the collection before this release.
The OHM maker's mark is stamped into each bowl individually. It identifies the bowl as part of the Legacy Collection and as an instrument made to The Ohm Store's specifications. Each bowl is forged by hand in Nepal, and the mark is applied after the bowl passes quality review. The mark is not decorative. It is a record of provenance.

The Foot Bowl is designed to be played while you stand inside it. At 20 inches in diameter, the interior of the bowl accommodates both feet. The bowl is placed on a cushion on the floor, and you stand inside it while playing with the striker or the soft mallet. The vibration travels through the bowl, through the cushion, and into the floor and your feet simultaneously.
This proximal positioning means the vibration reaches you through multiple pathways at once: airborne acoustic transmission, bone conduction through your feet and legs, and the standing wave field surrounding your body. Customers who have used smaller bowls describe this as a qualitatively different experience, and the anatomy supports that description. The number of vibration pathways active at once is simply higher.
The vibration reaches you through the air, through your feet, and through the standing wave field simultaneously.
The 20-Inch Foot Bowl ships directly from Nepal in a wooden crate with substantial cushioning. Several customers have noted the packaging specifically in their reviews. The bowl arrives with everything needed to play it immediately: a large red soft striker for sustained singing, a wooden suede-wrapped mallet for strikes, and a large cushion to set the bowl on while you stand inside it.
The Ohm Store covers 100% of tariffs on this bowl. There are no additional import fees at delivery. These bowls are already made and available to ship now. The current inventory is limited to the 30 bowls set aside for this release.

"The sound is absolutely gorgeous. The sustain goes on and on, even when I'm standing inside of it. I felt vibrations through my entire body. Packaging was outstanding — my bowl was packed in a wooden container with lots of cushioning."
"I start my day standing inside the bowl and use both the striker and soft mallet over about 10 to 15 minutes. I waited quite some time to make the investment but have found it's one of the best decisions I've made."
"The sound and vibrations are fantastic. We bonded immediately and it sang to me the first time I tried. Thank you for providing a quality product and excellent customer service."
"The product is amazing. It's better than what I had anticipated. It sounds absolutely amazing. Your body feels the vibration long afterward."
